How To Create A “Buyers Only” List

By
Jimmy D. Brown,

Content is king. It gets to wear the crown. And sit on
the throne. And rule the world. When it comes to
establishing credibility, gaining trust and producing
sales, content is royalty.

While I would never suggest abandoning the concept of
delivering high quality content to your subscribers, there
is another type of list composed of subscribers who couldn’t
care less about content.

“What is this type of list?” you ask.

– > The “announcement list”.

I’ve been teaching about the “announcement” list since
at least 2002 (on record at an event). And, yet, it’s a
widely untapped asset in most email marketing circles.

The main reason is: nobody’s teaching it. And so,
nobody knows anything about it, let alone how to effectively
create one of these lists.

So, we’re going to revisit it.

——————————————————-
What Is An “Announcement” List?
——————————————————-

DEFINED: An announcement list is a list whose sole purpose
is to “announce” (I.E. Inform, notify) when something new
is available for review, consumption or purchase.

In other words, it unapologetically says, “Hey, I just
released XYZ. Come check it out!”

Now, at first glance you may be thinking, “Who would join a
list that offers no content and only sales pitch?”

If you say it that way, it doesn’t sound too good to me
either! That’s why you don’t say it that way. Let’s take
a look at HOW to “say it”…

——————————————————-
How About An Example “Announcement” List?
——————————————————-

If you go to this site
or
you’ll find a textbook
example of this concept. PLRSO stands for “Private Label
Rights Special Offers” I established this list for the
sole purpose of informing people anytime I have a new PLR
offer available for them to buy.

That’s it.

I don’t send out ezine articles to them. No newsletters.
They don’t get blog posts. There aren’t any special reports.
No content of any kind. What they get, in essence, are
sales messages.

And there are already 2,822 subscribers, many of which
have already purchased some of the PLR special offers that
have been “announced” to the list.

Why does it work? Let me give you plenty of reasons…

1. I took something that was “in-demand” (PLR) and I allow
people to get a head-start on the world by knowing about
new releases FIRST by joining this list.

2. It’s not billed as an “announcement list”, but rather
a “Free PLR Club”. Big, big difference in perception.

3. It has it’s own domain name, further adding to the
perceived value and importance to those who join.

4. There is no requirement to buy once you join. Buy the
offers that you want, pass on the ones you don’t want.

5. A cost example is provided to show what you can
buy immediately, further illustrating the value of the
complimentary “membership”.

And here’s the big twist that makes this idea of creating
an “announcement” list a complete no-brainer…

I allow my affiliates to “give away” no cost memberships
to the PLRSO club!

When someone they refer buys one of the offers, they earn
a commission. And I get other people to promote and build
my list for me. We all win.

So, you may be thinking…

——————————————————-
What Kind Of “Announcement” List can I Build?
——————————————————-

There are a wide variety of “announcement” lists that you
can build. Let’s briefly look at ten of them…

* PLR List. You can swipe my idea and create a list of
private label rights buyers.

* New Offers List. Build a list of people who love your
work and want to be notified any time you have a new
offer available.

* Pre-Launch List. Create buzz and anticipation for an
upcoming new product release by building a pre-launch
list several weeks (even months) in advance.

* Ezine Publishers List. Build a list of publishers who
want to know any time you have a new ezine article
that is available for reprint in their ezines.

* Bloggers List. Another idea is to allow bloggers who
are looking for ready-made content to post to their blogs.

* Industry News List. How about becoming the “go to”
guy or gal to share breaking news about your industry?

* Joint Venture List. Develop a list of partners and
affiliates who are ready to promote anytime you have a
new offer.

* Incentives List. Here’s a great idea – create a list of
people who you offer “incentives” to when they purchase
someone else’s new product through YOUR affiliate link.

* Freebie List. Regularly give away rebrandable content
(reports, articles, videos, etc.) to these subscribers
to earn commissions.

While all ten of these lists aren’t necessarily “buyers”
up front, they each can certainly lead to buyers and revenue
for you if you implement them.

Content is king. But let’s not forget that there are alot
of queens, princes, dukes and earls out there too.

Copy And Paste Your Way To Profits ?

Ever wish pay-per-click marketing could be as easy as copy-and-paste? I won’t waste your time trying to convince you it is, because it’s not, but all too many affiliates shoot themselves in the foot by focusing all of their attention where the competition is fiercest – Google.

Most PPC beginners would automatically assume that Google’s traffic is always the highest-converting and most profitable, simply because it is the biggest game in town. They would be wrong. In fact, there are other pay-per-click advertising networks out there that can be easier to use, cheaper and sometimes even more profitable than Google Adwords.

One of the most frequently overlooked is MSN Adcenter. By rights, it should hardly be obscure, given that it is owned and operated by Microsoft, but surprisingly few marketers are taking advantage of the advertising opportunities MSN has to offer.

Sure, MSN may have less than 10% of online search traffic, but that still amounts to hundreds of millions of visitors per month. What’s more, the quality of MSN’s visitors, from a marketer’s perspective, is very high – a high percentage of them have made recent online purchases.

MSN Adcenter has some qualities that make it ideal for the beginner, such as the absence of some of the more burdensome rules and regulations that stymy many beginner affiliate marketers. While there are ad quality guidelines, there is no “Google Slap” to worry about on MSN Adcenter. Ads will not mysteriously start demanding $5 or $10 bids per click in order to keep running, and click prices overall can be considerably cheaper than those on Google Adwords in many cases.

Affiliates advertising on MSN Adcenter also do not have to worry about direct linking – unlike Google Adwords, Adcenter has no rules requiring that only one advertiser per keyword link to a particular landing page, so you are under no obligation to go to the trouble of designing a squeeze page for your campaigns.

Don’t get me wrong – Google Adwords is, and will continue to be, a great advertising platform for affiliates. The thing to remember is that despite its size, Google is not the be-all and end-all of online advertising and affiliate marketing – the field of opportunities is much bigger than that.

For tips and techniques on how to get the most out of MSN Adcenter, check out Zero Friction Marketing. Once you know the secrets of the pros, you may feel like you are literally cutting and pasting your way to a full-time online income.

CPA Marketing Is A Copy And Paste System

CPA promotion and other forms of affiliate promotion can have a hard learning curve, but there is one process of promoting offers that is about as close as you can come to “copy and paste.”
Sound lovely to be true? It very is, but it’s legitimate, and experienced marketers have been making fortunes with it for years. What is this mystery process? Media buys.
The term “media buys” is far from new. For plenty of years, it’s been used to report the process of buying marketing in traditional print magazines and newspapers, or on radio and television. Although these are still perfectly viable marketing mediums, the Net is the new hot commodity in the marketing market, and holds opportunities for marketers without the deep pockets needed to promote elsewhere.
Fundamentally, “media buys” involve purchasing banner marketing space on sites, with the cost depending on the website’s prominence and traffic, the size of the marketing campaign, the times at which the banners are to be displayed, and other criteria. Payment for these advertisement campaigns is usually calculated on the basis of “CPM” (cost per thousand impressions), meaning that unlike PPC, where you are paying each time your advertisement is clicked, you are paying a set rate whenever a visitor sees your advertisement. Depending on the advertisement rates, you could finish up getting very cheap clicks.
Historicallyin the past, advertisers have had to pay marketing agencies to design marketing campaigns for them. However, plenty of companies with affiliate programs are now providing their associates with pre-made banner ads in various different standard sizes free, either directly or through an affiliate network.
As the affiliate, this means that all you need to do do start promoting affiliate and CPA offers with banners is literally cut and paste a snippet of code. Cut, paste, and you’re done – no need to wrack your brain to come up with advertisement copy, spend hours in Photoshop or write any code. It’s all been done for you.
Of coursework, like any other kind of offer promotion, there’s tricks of the trade that substantially increase your odds of success, and while you can basically jump in and hope for the best, you are much better off learning from a professional who has tested and tweaked techniques for maximum profits. The coursework will show you the ins and outs of media buys and permit you to hit the ground walking with confidence.

Choosing CPA Offers

For anyone getting in to CPA promotion, the variety of different offer types can be confusing – it might appear overwhelming at first to try and figure out what all the different offers are.
Some common types you will find in any CPA network’s portfolio are free-trial offers, zip-submit offers, and e-mail-submit offers.
Let’s start with free-trial offers, because they are so popular among both advertisers and the marketers who promote them. The reason is simple: These free trial offers are often free to the customer, except for a little fee (as little as $1.95 or so) for shipping and handling. The customer gets a product they have an interest for an amazingly low cost, and the advertiser gets a valuable lead.
As a marketer, you might be wondering how this benefits you. Although the offer is free, or free, companies are often over willing to pay generous commissions (as much as $20-$100 per lead). The reason is that plenty of of these free trial offers are forced continuity programs – by accepting the free trial offer, the customer is agreeing to pay for more of the product when the free trial is up, often through a every month auto-ship program.
All you need to worry about, however, is delivering the lead – retaining the customer is up to the advertiser. That means that you receive a high commission on an offer that is simple to convert, and all you need to do is get the customer to the company’s landing page. Free-trial offers are popular for a reason…
Another common type of CPA offer is a “zip submit.” All a visitor has to do in order for you to get paid is enter their zip code. You can be definite that the company walking the promotion has a way to make funds from the customer on the back finish, but you as the CPA marketer get paid for the customer’s zip code. These offers convert well, although they are usually low-paying – you might earn as little as 75 cents to $1 for a zipper submit, but in the event you can drive plenty of traffic to them even little change can add up to huge funds.
Another similar kind of offer is an “e-mail submit.” You have probably heard plenty of marketers say that “the funds is in the list,” but building a list of prequalified buyers can be hard, and so companies are willing to pay a lot for the right e-mail addresses. That is where you come in: All the visitor needs to do is enter their e-mail address and you get paid. Like a zip-submit, the payouts can be a little low, but you can make up for that in volume.
You can learn much more about the various types of CPA offers and, most importantly, how to select the right offer to promote and how to promote it, by checking out the newly-released Zero Friction Marketing

Despite lots of industries shedding thousands of workers or even outright shutting their doors in today’s hard economic climate, there is two industry that is prospering & helping thousands of regular people make money. Why I Love Affiliate Marketing Part 5

NOTE: The following is a guest post from one of my favorite
internet marketing mentors.

By Jimmy D. Brown of “Affiliatenaire”

The word “overhead” is not a favorite among those who run
businesses of any kind. Nobody likes the expenses of
operating a business. And nobody really talks about them
much when it comes to promoting all of the “money-making”
products and services online.

But, don’t kid yourself, there’s a lot of overhead.

That brings me to the fifth reason why I love affiliate
marketing…

** You don’t need a big budget to make it work **

Do you have any idea how much money is spent running an
internet business? There are monthly fees for…

* Autoresponders
* Hosting
* Management
* Advertising
* Scripts
* Much more

There are regular fees for…

* Licensing
* Outsourcing
* Support
* Customer Service
* Maintenance
* Development
* Recruting
* Much more

It’s not uncommon to spend tens of thousands (even
hundreds of thousands) of dollars in operational
costs — which is fine if you’ve been in business
a while and are making the bucks. However, if you’re
a newcomer, it can be taxing on your budget!

SIDEBAR: I paid one girl over $30,000 last year
just to oversee one small part of my business.
No one talks much about it, but there ARE a lot
of expenses involved before you get to the
“bottom line” of profit.

BUT, with affiliate marketing, you don’t need a big
budget to make it work! You can simply use a variety
of free and low-cost marketing methods to generate
clicks to your affiliate link.

That’s why I love affiliate marketing.

You don’t need a big budget to make it work.

Why I Love Affiliate Marketing Part 4

NOTE: The following is a guest post from one of my favorite
internet marketing mentors.

By Jimmy D. Brown of “Affiliatenaire”

I’m sure by now you are well aware that there are those who
have reported HUGE amounts of money being made with their
online businesses. What you may not be aware of is the
amount of work involved in generating those “sales” (not
always net profit, mind you … this isn’t “spendable”
income in a lot of cases.)

That brings me to the fourth reason why I love affiliate
marketing…

** You don’t need to manage an entire business **

While it can be quite lucrative, running an entire business
with employees, inventory, partners, vendors, and other
associates can be a time-sucking, frustrating ordeal.

Imagine…

* Processing refunds
* Putting out fires when partners SPAM
* Managing day-to-day operations
* Overseeing projects you’ve outsourced
* Recruting new affiliates
* Training everyone to help you
* Paying taxes
* Taking care of the paper trail
* Doing all of the “stuff” that business owners do.

Didn’t you want to start an internet business to make
more time for important things in life?

Why not make a lot of money WITHOUT making a lot of extra
work for yourself?!

It can be a lot of extra work and stress. BUT, with
affiliate marketing, you don’t need to manage an entire
business! You are simply responsible for promoting your
affiliate link… someone else handles all the rest.

That’s why I love affiliate marketing.

You don’t need to manage an entire business.

Affiliate Marketing and market Research

Now that many people’s finances are getting even tighter due to the recession, the idea of making money online is getting even more attractive, and one of the first things many people hear about is something called “affiliate marketing.” While there is a enough information out there to overwhelm most people at first, the basic concept is fairly simple.

Market research is the first step in the process.

First, you must research markets you are interested in. This is your most important starting point, and you can do this by finding out what your potential customers are looking for. This is the essence of “keyword research” – finding the actual words or phrases people type into search engines to find answers to their problems, and you can be sure that if you do not do your research, you will regret it later.

By finding and using keywords that consumers are actively entering into the search engines, you will be able to help your websites and landing pages rank higher, generating a nonstop flood of organic, targeted traffic.

Keyword research doesn’t have to be a difficult task, however. Start with the free Google Keyword Tool, which can be found by searching for “Google keyword tool external,” and enter in a keyword or phrase that identifies the product or niche that you are interested in promoting as an affiliate.

Click on “get keyword ideas” to generate a list of keywords and gauge the competitiveness of the the market by taking a look at the number of times people are searching for your main keywords per month.

What you want to do is find a market with existing demand that also has existing competition and products readily available, but not so competitive that ranking highly is next to impossible.

What’s important here is that you remember there must be an audience for whatever you choose to market. Since you are an affiliate, your costs for entering a market are not very high, but it’s still a good idea to take the time to do niche research in order to avoid wasting your time.

For more information on market research and keyword research in affiliate marketing, particularly as it applies to CPA, check out the newly-released Zero Friction Marketing course.

Why I Love Affiliate Marketing Part 3

NOTE:  The following is a guest post from one of my favorite
internet marketing mentors.

By Jimmy D. Brown of “Affiliatenaire”

Some people have the ability to persuade others and talk
them into just about anything.  Especially when it comes
to influencing their buying decisions.  They know how to
push the right hot buttons, say things the right way and
generally get consumers into an emotional frenzy to the
point they are ready to click an order button.

There are two key words in that paragraph that really need
to stand out in your mind:  “some people”.

Not everyone has this ability.  In fact, only a few do.

That brings me to the third reason why I love affiliate
marketing…

 “Affiliatenaire”** You don’t need to write a world class salesletter**

Have you ever tried to write a salesletter? There’s a
reason why professional copywriters charge up to $10,000
(and sometimes even more) for a SINGLE salesletter. It
takes a lot of experience and skill to write a top-gun
salesletter, which is why most people have a hard time
convincing people to buy if they do create their own
products and website.

They simply don’t have the right salesletter in place
to make it all work. Without good copy, it really doesn’t
matter how spectacular the offer is, you’re simply not
going to get many sales.

     SIDEBAR:  The average conversion rate of site visitors
     who become buyers is reportedly less than 2%.  That
     means 98 out of every 100 do NOT buy.  That’s why
     sales are so incredibly bad for a poor site … you
     *might* get 2 sales out of every 300-400 visitors.

BUT, with affiliate marketing, you don’t need to write a
salesletter! You simply direct people to someone else’s
high-octane salesletter for THEM to convert your leads
into commissionable sales.

That’s why I love affiliate marketing.

You don’t need to write a world class salesletter.
